Two decorative oak Art Deco side tables from the Netherlands, dating to roughly 1925–1935, with a lighter older piece and a darker later piece, light table 50 cm high with a 29 cm diameter top and dark table 45 cm high with a 30 cm top, both in good used condition with minor signs of age and moisture spots.
Description from the seller
Two decorative oak side tables. The little tables are in Art Deco style. The light-brown table is the oldest. It actually dates from the Art Deco period somewhere in the 1920s or 1930s of the last century. The dark table probably dates from the 1960s, but was also made in the Art Deco style. The light table is 50 cm high and has a top with a diameter of 29 cm. The weight is about 2 kg. The dark table is 45 cm high, has a top with a diameter of 30 cm and weighs almost 2.5 kg. The oldest table has three legs, and there is a very small wobble at the joints (not very much!). The top shows a small crack, and there are some (moisture) stains as well. The dark table is 100% stable and has only small edge chips on the rim of the top and a very light, barely visible moisture stain on the top. All mentioned signs of use are logical and light signs of use. They are all quite easy to remove or camouflage, but that is not necessary. These signs of use testify to many years of use of these beautiful pieces of furniture! The tables have a fairly sleek Art Deco design. This gives both tables a robust and solid appearance. The oak wood has a very beautiful grain pattern.
The side tables are not only very decorative, they are also functional. They can be used as plant or side tables, but also as a piëdestal (see photos). And although they are not designed for it, you could even use them as a stool.
The tables are still stable and ready to use. They fit into a classic interior, but just as well into a modern setting. Beautiful and functional.
The tables are carefully packed and insured for shipping.
