Description from the seller

Fascinating and substantial complete table service with a serving salad bowl, made in strong commercial stoneware with high resistance called Diamondstone, produced at the historic Laveno plant (at the time part of the Richard Ginori group).

The design of the service evokes a exquisitely bucolic and romantic aesthetic. Each piece is characterized by a prominent continuous relief-embossed band rich in volutes, tendrils and Baroque floral motifs pressed into the ceramic. At the center of the composition stands a luminous bouquet of multicolored cut flowers, dominated by vivid shades of purple roses, yellow calendulas, and small indigo petals.

A set with great visual impact, perfect for fans of Shabby Chic, Country Chic table styles or for vintage and retro tasting arrangements.

The service comprises:

* 10 flat plates 25.5ø
* 12 bowls / dessert plates 24.5ø
* 10 dessert/fruit plates 21ø
* 1 Large salad bowl / deep serving cup, entirely relief-worked on the exterior 24ø

HISTORY OF THE BRAND: S.C.I. LAVENO – DIAMONDSTONE
Founded in 1856 in Laveno Mombello on the shores of Lake Maggiore, the Italian Ceramics Society (S.C.I.) was one of the largest and most revolutionary Italian ceramic manufacturers, famous for the quality of its earthenware and for the artistic direction of masters such as Guido Andloviz. In 1965 S.C.I. merged with Richard Ginori.

The mark impressed in green underglaze "Diamondstone - RG - Laveno - Since 1856 - Italy - Made in Italy" attests that production of this lot occurred around the mid-1960s. The "Diamondstone" was a patented mark to guarantee a particularly robust ceramic body, compact and durable over time, designed for daily use of high-end.

CONDITION REPORT
The service presents itself in good vintage condition, carrying the charm typical of antique ceramics.
* Structural Integrity: All pieces are structurally sound. No chipping on edges, cracks, crazing, or previous restorations on any of the plates nor on the large salad bowl.
* Craquelure (Cavillatura): There is widespread and natural craquelure (micro-cracking of glaze) on the front surface as well as the back of the pieces. This is a completely normal phenomenon for the strong stoneware of this era, which does not compromise the plate’s solidity but testifies to its historical authenticity and vintage character.
* Colors: The central floral decor remains vivid, glossy, and well-defined across the set.

PROFESSIONAL PACKING AND TRACKED SHIPMENT
Given the substantial overall weight of the stoneware and the number of pieces, the shipment will receive maximum safety treatment:
* Protection: Each plate will be individually wrapped in bubble wrap and the stacks separated by inserts of polystyrene or cushioning cardboard.
* Service: Shipment via fully trackable international express courier.

Seller's Story

Vintage ceramics and porcelains are often worked and decorated with masterful precision and delicacy, they are objects of timeless charm, the result of knowledge handed down and widespread. From a historical and cultural point of view, they represent an extraordinary combination of craftsmanship and art, which takes the form of works of rare beauty. An authentic passion that drives me to identify shapes, models and decorations and to identify a possible or certain dating of the objects through a continuous study of sources and archives.
