Description from the seller

Jérémy Lempin is a French documentary photographer and photojournalist born in 1983 in Pas-de-Calais. A former military photographer within the Navy and then the ECPAD, he covered several French overseas operations before becoming an independent photographer in 2016.

His work is rooted in engaged documentary photography, focused on human, social and military issues. He is notably known for his series Aux armes et caetera, dedicated to the psychic traumas of French soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. This series earned him significant recognition in the world of photojournalism.

In 2021, his reportage Docteur Peyo et Mister Hassen, about the therapy horse Peyo in palliative care, received several international distinctions, including a World Press Photo, an Istanbul Photo Award, and the Visa d’or Magazine.

He also develops a more humane and popular body of work around French territories and the public of the Tour de France with the series Instantanés du Tour de France, exhibited notably at Atelier/Galerie Taylor in Paris.

His book Aux armes et caetera: les blessures de l’âme des soldats français was published by Hemeria and distributed notably by the Maison Européenne de la Photographie.

Seller's Story

THE TAYLOR GALLERY WORKSHOP The Atelier / Galerie Taylor, located at 7, on the eponymous street in the 10th arrondissement in Paris, is a friendly place dedicated to photography. It was created thanks to image enthusiasts, José Nicolas, photographer and manager of the place with the support of Jean Vinégla. Located a stone's throw from Place de la République, between rue du Château-d'eau and rue René-Boulanger, the place is dynamic, atypical and warm, resolutely turned towards sharing and mutual discovery of images at the 'international. The Atelier / Galerie Taylor is familiarly inclined to exhibit film photography while remaining open to the wide range of contemporary imaging techniques. It presents well-known and emerging photographers, with the aim of always surprising and arousing the curiosity of collectors and visitors. Since its opening in September 2019, the Atelier / Galerie Taylor has carved out a good reputation, going from being a confidential place to a showroom recognized by professionals and collectors, both for the choice of its programming and for the quality of the prints on display.
