Description from the seller

Magnificent and large table crucifix (or altar cross) in Neo-Gothic style, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century (period 1880-1910).

Rare symbol: Just above the head of Christ (below the INRI inscription), one can discern a very fine depiction of the three theological virtues superimposed: the Cross (Faith), the Marine Anchor (Hope) and the Sacred Heart (Charity).

Remarkable pedestal: Very fine openwork chasing with scroll and foliage motifs.

Height: 41 cm (Large size, very striking presence)

Width: 14.7 cm

Weight: 1.116 kg (Heavy and very stable object)

Material: Régule from the period with a superb antique patina with bronze/golden reflections.

Condition: Good used and preserved condition, beautiful original patina that bears witness to its authenticity

Some scales: Visible on the stem and the cross, where the fine surface silvering layer has peeled away, revealing the darker raw metal underneath.

One weld: Located at the junction just above the base, which is a later repair made to reattach the cross after a break.
