Description from the seller

EVERSHARP SKYLINE FOUNTAIN PEN: We are auctioning a true icon of 20th-century industrial design: the Eversharp Skyline in its Standard size, manufactured in the 1940s. Designed by the legendary Henry Dreyfuss, this fountain pen broke the mold of its era with its radical, aerodynamic aesthetics.
This particular piece features a beautiful, coordinated color combination: a smooth polystyrene body in an elegant solid dark brown (Dubonnet) that ends in a highly tapered conical tip. This contrasts perfectly with its plastic celluloid cap, which presents a beautiful longitudinally striped pattern alternating fine dark lines with gold/amber.
It retains its unmistakable and patented over-the-top clip that rises from the very top of the crown, wrapping the dome (derby) completely. Inside, the nib is the original 14-karat solid gold nib.
Condition (Expert Evaluation)
The fountain pen is in an aesthetic condition exceptional for its age:
Body and Cap: The materials retain excellent shine and the brown tones appear rich and deep. No cracks, deep scratches, or deformities in the aerodynamic profile are observed.
Metals: The iconic clip and the side lever filler preserve a magnificent appearance with only light signs of the passage of time.
Nib: 14k Eversharp nib in perfect condition, with the tines properly aligned.
Filling System: The lever mechanism operates smoothly. (Expert note: As standard for pens of this era, it is likely that the original rubber sac inside may need to be replaced to ensure full ink loading and optimal daily use).
(Detail viewing of the photo gallery is recommended to appreciate the cap’s striped pattern, the body’s brown tone, and the overall aerodynamic design).
Shipping
The item will be carefully protected and packaged, with an international tracking number, guaranteeing safe delivery to the winning bidder.
Best of luck to all bidders with this piece of 1940s writing history!
