Description from the seller
A0000004667
The fountain pen presents a very good overall condition, in line with its age, notably preserving its original aesthetics and functionality. The body in gray striated cellulose acetate maintains a good definition of the longitudinal lines, with a transparency still visible in the ink window, which allows proper appreciation of the fill level. Slight surface marks typical of use and the passage of time are observed, not affecting the integrity of the material or its visual appeal.
The cap, in black cellulose acetate, is in good structural condition, with normal signs of use such as micro-scratches and slight wear in the areas most handled. The metal elements gold-plated (clip and rings) retain a good presence, with possible light wear of the plating in specific points, something common in pieces from this era.
The piston-filler system has been inspected and functions correctly, ensuring smooth and secure filling. The pen is delivered fully operational. The 14K gold nib offers smooth and consistent writing, with a slight variation in stroke characteristic of these vintage models.
No significant structural fissures are observed, which is especially important in cellulose acetate pieces of this age. Overall, it is a well-preserved, functional specimen ready for use or collection.
Conservation recommendations
It is recommended to use high-quality inks specifically for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks. In case of prolonged non-use, clean with lukewarm water, dry completely before storing, and keep in a dry place away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Operate the filling system gently to preserve the mechanism.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation. Happy bidding!
