Published in Milan by the publisher Serafino Muggiani & Comp. in 1877, this is Volume One of the work, one of the great classics of 19th-century adventure and science fiction literature.

The copy retains a solid contemporaneous hard cover with a title and gold decorations on the spine. Frontispiece complete with the printing date, an illustration as a frontispiece, and the text well preserved.
