This antique dinnerware is a collection of asparagus plates from the renowned French manufacturer Longchamp, specifically the model "Velars." These plates are terra de fer pieces (fine earthenware) hand-painted, characterized by their multicolored floral design and a cobalt blue ribbed edge with arabesque motifs and Acantus leaves in cobalt blue. All the plates are engraved with their authenticity registry.

They are not new, over 100 years old, retaining vivid tones in the pattern without cracks, notable are the light tones of age patina in the varnish and some crazing and wear in the compartments consistent with their age and use.

These are antique asparagus plates made of Terre de Fer (ironstone) circa 1915-1920. They feature a real deep blue edge in relief and very finely detailed hand-painted floral motifs.

They include a special compartment designed to hold the sauce or butter when serving asparagus.
