Description from the seller

-Historicist desktop inkwell in Bronze and Régule.

- Country of origin: France.
- Period: Late 19th century (Circa 1890).
- Style: Historicist / Neorenaissance.
- Materials: Base and containers in cast bronze; equestrian figure in régule with multicolor copper patina; inner reservoirs in heavy protective alloy.
- Dimensions: 20 cm high; 28 cm wide and 17 cm deep.
- Weight: 3.0 kg (A robust piece with substantial packaging).

- Condition: Excellent state of preservation for its age. Structurally complete and clean. Displays natural and aesthetic wear on the figure's patina that reveals the original copper background, adding character and authenticity to the piece. The hinges function properly.

- Important and heavy double historicist desk inkwell, made in France at the end of the 19th century. The piece stands out for its detailed central falconry scene, depicting a rider or knight in Renaissance-style attire holding a falcon on his fist.

- The manufacture of the piece is mixed, a technique very common and valued in French decorative arts of the Napoleonic III and Belle Époque period.
- The main structure (pierced base with scroll ornamentation, quill holder and the two outer caps) is cast in solid bronze.
- The central equestrian figure is made in régule, finished with a rich multicolored chemical patina. The subtle wear of time on the horse reveals the underlying copper electroplating, giving the sculpture an attractive chromatic and three-dimensional contrast.

- Rarity and Conservation:
- Unlike most pieces that reach the market, this lot is strictly complete. It retains its two original caps and, exceptionally, the two removable inner metal reservoirs intended to hold the ink.

- A high-presence object, ideal for collectors of antique writing implements or classic decor.

- Photographs form part of the description of the lot's condition. It will be properly protected and shipped with tracking.
