hand-carved briar wood tobacco pipe with a figural bowl in the form of a working man's head, wearing a flat cap, with a deeply furrowed brow and strong, characterful facial features typical of "genre" or "character" pipes popular in Central Europe (Austria/Germany) from the 1920s–1930s. This style of carving — everyday tradesmen, soldiers, and folk figures — was a common decorative motif for briar pipes of the period, often made as novelty or gift smoking pipes. Curved stem with a contrasting horn/vulcanite-style mouthpiece. Weight: 30g. Dimensions: 14 x 3 x 4 cm. Condition: good vintage condition with expected surface wear, small chips consistent with age and handling (visible on the cap/collar edge); carving retains excellent detail and expression.
