Description from the seller
Glauco Cambon (1909–1969)
“Dohányzik Ön??? – Ha „Luca” szivarka papírosát használja”
Original advertising manifesto, Hungary, 1930s
Original lithographic manifesto created by Glauco Cambon, renowned illustrator and poster designer from Trieste active between the Twenties and the Fifties. The work was conceived for the Hungarian market as advertising for the cigarette papers “Luca,” characterized by a strong graphic imprint with an Art Deco and constructivist taste.
The composition is dominated by a large stylized hand that overlooks two female figures with a child, an iconic solution with great visual impact that recalls the language of social propaganda of the era. The use of flat color fields, limited colors, and geometric lines is typical of Cambon’s mature style, among the most important Italian poster artists of the twentieth century.
Original vintage specimen, not a modern reprint, preserved in a frame. In the bottom right there is the plate signature “Cambon.”
Conditions: fair, with the usual signs of time, light horizontal creases due to storage, small signs of use and slight marginal abrasions, as visible in the photographs. The frame is included and shows normal signs of use.
A work of notable historical and collector interest, ideal for collectors of advertising graphics, original posters, Art Deco, and works by Glauco Cambon.
Shipping: the poster will be carefully packed to ensure maximum protection during transport.
The frame is a courtesy of the seller who does not assume responsibility for any possible damage to it during shipping
