Description from the seller
Vintage tea- and dessert service "The Post House" – Wood & Sons (12 people)
A beautiful vintage collector's service made of fine English ceramic (Genuine English Ironstone), manufactured by the renowned producer Wood & Sons in England. The model depicts a detailed British countryside scene (stagecoach with horses in front of the inn "The Red Lion"), applied under the glaze.
Components (38 pieces):
12 teacups or coffee cups
12 saucers
12 dessert / cake plates
1 large teapot with lid
1 milk jug
Details & condition:
Period: approx. 1950 - 1960 (mid-20th century). The marking "Potters For 200 Years" indicates production after 1950.
Condition: The set is in very good condition, without chips or structural cracks. Note: Only some plates show crazing (a fine network of superficial lines under the glaze) – a natural effect, typical for old English ceramics and confirms their authenticity and age.
