Jewellery box - Maple - Sorrentine art box set

Sorrentine-art Jewelry box enriched by artisans with an integrated carillon inside the jewelry box, featuring high-precision mechanical musical mechanisms (carillon), often imported from Switzerland (produced by historic manufactories such as Reuge or Lador).

These carillons were calibrated to reproduce melodies from the Neapolitan and international classical tradition (such as Torna a Surriento, 'O Sole Mio or Isle of Capri).

When the lid is lifted, a small pin releases the toothed metal cylinder, spreading the music and transforming the box into a complete sensory experience.

The Decoration: The lid features an elaborate inlay of volutes and sinuous vegetal motifs. The color contrast is accentuated by using radica for the background and lighter woods (such as maple) for the pierced design.

The Structure: The dark sides present mirror-like decorations along the curvature, typical of the most elegant and refined models of Sorrentine craftsmanship from the mid-20th century.

This casket is lined with soft velvet or quilted silk (often red), beside which sits the small protected compartment that houses the mechanical heart of the carillon.
