Description from the seller

Belgian School – Monumental Mirrored Pair of Cherub Wall Consoles – First Half of the 20th Century (ca. 1920–1940) – No Reserve

An impressive and highly decorative mirrored pair of monumental cherub wall consoles, executed in heavy hand-cast plaster composition and finished with a beautifully aged antique patina.

Inspired by Italian Renaissance and Baroque architectural ornamentation, the consoles feature expressive cherub faces framed by richly sculpted wings. Their mirrored composition creates a harmonious and elegant decorative ensemble, making them ideal statement pieces for both classical and contemporary interiors.

Most likely produced in Belgium during the first half of the 20th century, the consoles display the quality associated with traditional architectural plasterwork. Their substantial weight, traditional casting technique, internal metal reinforcement and naturally aged patina reflect skilled craftsmanship.

One of the consoles retains its original mould mark and model number (C37L), indicating professional workshop production. The companion console is unmarked but is identical in design, dimensions, material and finish, confirming that the pair belongs together as an original mirrored set.

Both consoles are fitted with an integrated keyhole hanging system and are ready for wall mounting.

* Width: 22 cm
* Depth: 15 cm
