Art Nouveau style table lamp from 1940–1950, made in brass with an opal blue glass shade, 30 cm wide, 30 cm deep and 54 cm high, origin France, in good used condition and not in working order.
Description from the seller
It is a modernist lamp from the first half of the 20th century, built in gilded brass and crowned by a tulip-shaped shade of blue opaline glass, a combination that perfectly defines that moment when electrical design began seeking beauty, lightness, and color without renouncing functionality. The piece breathes that domestic modernism that blends soft lines, noble materials, and a poetic touch in the choice of glass.
The brass stem, with its rounded and elegant silhouette, provides stability and a warm glow that contrasts with the intensity of the opaline blue. The shade, bulbous and delicate, filters the light with a softness almost liquid: the opaline glass transforms the illumination into an intimate, enveloping glow, very characteristic of lamps from this period. That deep blue, almost turquoise, adds a decorative accent that makes the lamp a focal point even when it is off.
The electrical system, original to the period, already shows signs of time: old wiring, aged connections, and components that require an update of the electrical receptacle to ensure safety and everyday use. It is a common intervention on pieces of this type and, carried out with care, allows preserving its aesthetics entirely.
Overall, it is a lamp that combines modernism, craftsmanship, and color, perfect for interiors that seek a piece with historical soul and sculptural presence.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
