Description from the seller
Artisanal liturgical mitre for bishops and cardinals.
Head circumference measurement (fits a medium size): about 56.
Dimensions: height 27 cm (with the finials, maximum height 67 cm)
Max width 34 cm
Crafted in a contemporary era (post-2000), it stands out for its sober elegance and meticulous attention to detail, in line with the liturgical tradition of the Catholic Church. The structure is the classic decorated Latin mitre, with two well-defined peaks and a harmonious, balanced form, supported by an internal rigid core that ensures stability and fit during celebrations.
The main fabric presents a refined ivory-white tone, with a fine, regular weave. The surface is embellished with gold galloons applied with great precision: two vertical bands run from the top down to the base, framing the smooth central portion, while a horizontal gold band runs along the base of the mitre, creating an elegant and solemn visual balance. The finishes are precise, with regular, well-executed stitching, indicating careful artisanal workmanship.
The posterior finials, in coordinated white fabric, are 40 cm long and finished with a fine gold fringe, adding an extra touch of prestige without being excessive.
Overall, the item is in excellent condition: the fabrics are clean and well maintained, with only light creases on the finials from storage, easily removable. No significant signs of wear are evident, other than those due to normal liturgical use. The structure retains its shape perfectly.
This mitre thus represents a liturgical vestment of great dignity and stylistic balance, suitable both for use in episcopal and cardinal celebrations and as a collectible piece for those who appreciate contemporary sacred art and ecclesiastical textile tradition.
