Description from the seller

Herend Hungary – Victoria Pattern – Exceptional Hand-Painted Reticulated Porcelain Collection (6)

An elegant and highly decorative six-piece collection of fine hand-painted Herend porcelain, produced in Hungary and decorated in the celebrated Victoria pattern. Combining masterful hand painting, intricate openwork (reticulated) piercing, sculptural floral modelling and rich hand-applied gilding, this collection beautifully demonstrates the exceptional craftsmanship for which Herend has been internationally renowned for nearly two centuries.

The Victoria pattern is among Herend’s most iconic and sought-after designs. Inspired by 19th-century European interpretations of Chinese botanical decoration, it is distinguished by finely painted flowers, lush foliage and vibrant colours, each piece individually hand-painted by skilled artisans.

This attractive collection comprises:

* Large reticulated covered serving dish with matching platter and sculptural strawberry finial
* Reticulated covered bonbon box with strawberry finial
* Reticulated cachepot / flower pot
* Hand-modelled yellow rose candle holder
* Hand-modelled lilac rose candle holder

The pierced latticework is executed with remarkable precision, allowing light to pass through the porcelain while maintaining remarkable structural delicacy. The sculptural strawberries and hand-modelled roses add an additional level of artistic refinement rarely encountered in modern porcelain production.

Every piece bears the authentic blue Herend backstamp with “Handpainted” designation.

Condition

Overall in very good vintage condition.

The porcelain displays bright colours, crisp hand painting and attractive gilding with only light signs of careful age-related use. One yellow rose candle holder has two small chips to leaves, and the covered serving dish has a repair to one green stem, visible in the photographs. No cracks or repairs were observed on the remaining pieces.
