Vase - Earthenware - Staffordshire Regency

Elegant ornamental vase in fine English earthenware, gilded with two handles, resting on a small pedestal and a square base. The decoration features a rich clouded cobalt blue ground enhanced by substantial gilding, with reserves in a polychrome floral motif and a hand-painted exotic bird. The upper border is adorned with an blue-and-white oriental-style pattern.
Origin: England, probably the Staffordshire region, circa 1825–1845 (Regency period / early Victorian).
Very good condition.

This piece is part of the tradition of quality English productions in the first third of the 19th century, influenced by Oriental porcelains and Imari motifs. The marks visible under the base (red and gold letters) seem more likely to be workshop or decorator marks than an official manufacturer's mark.
