AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Hand-enamelled and overlaid Bohemian crystal goblet – 20th Century.

Exceptional and elegant goblet (stemmed wine glass) in Bohemian crystal, hand-decorated, a classic example of the traditional art glass of the Czech Republic (former Bohemia region).

Manufacturing Technique (Overlay Glass): Executed through the complex technique of layer overlay. The main body in transparent crystal received an outer layer in a deep ruby red shade. Subsequently, the craftsman cut the vertical sections (oval medallions) and the star-shaped base, exposing the underlying transparent crystal and creating a beautiful geometric contrast.

Decoration and Details: Features a delicate floral relief decoration (High Enamel), meticulously hand-painted with colored enamels. The frames of the medallions, the arabesques, and the fillets on the upper edge and the base are richly enhanced with liquid gold.

Faceted Base: The base of the foot presents a classic eight-point star cut, providing a magnificent reflection and light diffusion.

Condition: Excellent condition, with no flaws, nicks, or hairlines on the rim and foot. The enamel paintings and gold are impeccably preserved.

Measurements: 19.5/9/9 cm
Materials: Crystal, Enamel, and 24kt gold
Origin: Czech Republic/Bohemia
