Description from the seller
Anubis is the Greek name of the god of death, mummification, embalming, the afterlife, cemeteries, tombs and the Underworld, in ancient Egyptian religion, usually depicted as a dog or a man with a canine head. Anubis has assumed different roles in various contexts. Portrayed as a tomb protector already in the First Dynasty (c. 3100 around – 2890 BCE approximately), Anubis was also an embalmser. One of his foremost roles was that of a god who guided souls into the afterlife. He assisted at the weighing of the heart, where it was determined whether a soul would be allowed to enter the realm of the dead.
Ra is the ancient Egyptian deity of the sun.
With the Fifth Dynasty in the 25th and 24th centuries BCE, he had become one of the most important deities in ancient Egyptian religion, identified mainly with the noonday sun. It was believed that Ra governed all parts of the created world: the sky, the Earth and the underworld; he was the god of the sun, order, kings and the sky. Ra was depicted as a falcon and shared characteristics with the sky god. It was believed that all forms of life were created by Ra. In some accounts, humans were created from Ra's tears and sweat; in the myth of the Celestial Cow, it is told how humanity conspired against Ra and how he sent his eye as the goddess Sekhmet to punish them.
