About the Artist
Sasaki Shōraku is a Japanese Raku ceramic artist from the Shōraku kiln tradition, known for producing tea utensils based on the long history and aesthetic principles of Raku ware.

This work is created in the style of Ninsei, a legendary Kyoto ceramic artist of the Edo period who became famous for his elegant forms and refined painted decoration. The Shōraku kiln continues to create works inspired by traditional Kyoto tea ceramics while incorporating the individuality of each handcrafted piece.
