Description from the seller

Chinese Qianjiang Cai Teapot Dated 1912

A finely decorated Chinese Qianjiang Cai (浅绛彩) porcelain teapot dated to the autumn of 1912. The body is beautifully painted with two elegant ladies beneath blossoming peach trees, executed in the refined literati style characteristic of late Qing and early Republican-period Qianjiang decoration.

The teapot is further adorned with poetic inscriptions and a commemorative dedication dated to the autumn of 1912. It was clearly produced as a custom-made presentation piece, with inscriptions identifying both the recipient and the artist responsible for its decoration, adding considerable historical and documentary interest.

The combination of figure painting, poetry, calligraphy, and personal dedication makes this a highly collectible example of early 20th-century Chinese literati porcelain.

Condition: The spout has been professionally restored. Otherwise displaying expected age-related wear.

Dimensions:

* Height: 13 cm

A charming and historically significant dated Qianjiang Cai porcelain teapot, offering valuable insight into the transition from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic period.
