Antique bronze figurine of Khandoba, a reincarnation of Lord Shiva. He is depicted as a warrior on horseback, and is especially worshipped in the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka. He is shown here together with Parvati, his wife, the goddess of love and fertility. The figurine consists of two separate pieces, namely the figure of Shiva and the horse. It has a beautiful patina from use, and due to the intensive use in the home altar there is a lovely natural wear that has developed.

Antiek bronzen beeldje van Khandoba een reïncarnatie van Lord Shiva.. Hij  wordt 
afgebeeld als een strijder te paard, en wordt vooral aanbeden in de deelstaten Maharastra en Karnataka. Hij is hier afgebeeld samen met Parvati,, zijn echtgenote, de godin van liefde en vruchtbaarheid. Het beeldje bestaat uit 2 losse delen, nl de figuur van Shiva en het paard. Het heeft een mooie gebruikspatina en door het intensieve gebruik in het huisaltaar is er een mooie natuurlijke slijtage  ontstaan.
