Vintage aluminium champagne cooler from the 1970s–1980s, measuring 20 cm high, 21 cm wide and 18 cm deep in silver, produced in France for Moët & Chandon (Épernay) with grapevine relief and MOËT & CHANDON Fondé en 1743 engraving, in excellent condition and weighing 754 g.

Beautiful vintage champagne cooler, made for the house Moët et Chandon, in Épernay.
This cooler features relief grape bunches/vines all around and also the engraved text:
"MOËT & CHANDON Fondé en 1743".
Both sides are identically engraved, the sides equipped with rings that serve as handles.
The bottom is stamped by the maker, MOD MEAUX ARGIT Made in France.
Argit is an authority on champagne coolers and supplies virtually all of the major houses.
M.O.D. stands for Metaux Ouvres et Decores, originally since 1926 a manufacturer of furniture fittings in Meaux.
After trying to diversify production, they produced silverware and the ARGIT brand was acquired, the well-known maker of silver champagne coolers
The cooler is in good condition and is still perfectly usable.
Very popular among collectors.
