Description from the seller
A set of six French cut glass and pewter knife rests, circa 1930–1940.
A decorative set of six French knife rests, each comprising a cut glass bar mounted between cast pewter terminals. The terminals are decorated with rosette panels and foliate ornament, raised on stylised paw feet, while the cut glass bars are engraved with geometric motifs that beautifully refract the light. Combining practical function with decorative appeal, the set reflects the elegant table appointments of the Art Deco period.
A refined and well-crafted set, combining the brilliance of cut glass with the understated elegance of pewter.
In very good overall condition with light surface wear and minor signs of use consistent with age. No apparent chips or cracks to the glass. The pewter with a light age-related patina.
