Icon - Christ the True Vine with the saints - Wood

Beautiful Greek icon of Christ Pantocrator in relief metal, silvered and gilded, set in carved incised wood. This is an icon from the second half of the 20th century, crafted using techniques in the tradition of traditional Byzantine art.

We can admire “Jesus Christ the True Vine with the saints as branches” from the 20th century.

The icon was made entirely by hand, following the ancient methods of icon creation. It has been painted with the greatest fidelity possible to the model, using traditional materials: egg tempera, fabric, ancient wood and gold ground.

An icon truly striking and exceptional, with a very detailed pictorial style and many additional details. Color contrasts perfectly coordinated and shading successfully rendered.

The faces and garments of the saints are particularly noteworthy. The saints are indicated with labels. The inscriptions are easy to read. The icon is in good condition with the typical signs of wear related to age (see photos).
