Description from the seller
Small frame with an antique Luigi Filippo era mirror in wood and gilded stucco - Mercury glass - France / Italy, second half of the 19th century
Charming and refined small wall mirror dating from the second half of the 19th century, fully in keeping with the Luigi Filippo / Eclectic style. The rectangular frame is made of wood and coated in finely molded stucco, adorned with elegant raised floral decorations applied to the four corners. The surface preserves its splendid original gilding in a gold tone that evokes antique coin gold, lending warmth and a magnificent vintage luster. The true strong point of this piece is the presence of its original mercury glass. The reflective surface displays the characteristic and fascinating bloomings (dark oxidation spots) accumulated over time. This detail should not be considered a defect, but the authentic signature of its age and a guarantee of originality that enhances its collectible value and retro aesthetic. An ideal accent piece for entrances, studies, or living rooms, perfect both in a classic furnishing context and as a contrasting element in a modern minimalist environment.
