Description:
This is a tall decorative bamboo flower vase / ikebana vessel, made from a large natural bamboo section. The form keeps the original cylindrical character of the bamboo, with visible nodes, natural vertical grain, and an irregular root-like base. The piece has a striking architectural structure: an upper cylindrical opening, a lower inner vessel, and a large open window through the center, framed by glossy black lacquered supports.
The exterior is finished in a warm amber-brown tone, giving the bamboo a rich aged patina. Around the body are painted, carved, or applied landscape decorations showing mountains, trees, thatched houses, and a rural riverside scene. Some details appear to be highlighted with metallic or gilt tones, creating a subtle contrast against the natural bamboo surface. The interior is lacquered in a reddish-brown tone, while the rim and open frame are finished in black lacquer.
The overall feeling is elegant but rustic, combining natural bamboo, lacquer work, and Japanese landscape imagery. It would work well as an ikebana vase, a floor-standing flower vessel, or a decorative interior object. The tall vertical form makes it especially suitable for branches, grasses, or seasonal arrangements.
