Antique Staunton chess, draughts & backgammon game (c. 1950) – wooden 40.5×40.5×7 cm in case

An authentic Staunton chess set, presumably from circa 1950, in an integrated case that also functions as a backgammon or checkers game. A beautiful authentic object with charm and character, perfect for collectors or enthusiasts of antique board games.

Condition:
Chess pieces and checkers stones in good condition. All varnished and complete. The case looks very imposing. Some signs of use around but overall image good. Interior lined with fabric and somewhat aged but fully functional. The checkers side is a bit warped at the edge.

Origin:
Probably manufactured around 1950 — classic Staunton-style chess pieces from that period.

Provenance from a private collection; possibly Dutch but exact origin is not known.

Square size on the chessboard: approx. 4 cm per square.

King height: approx. 8.5 cm.

Een authentiek Staunton schaakspel, vermoedelijk uit circa 1950, in een geïntegreerde kist die ook dient als backgammon‑ of damspel. Mooi authentiek object met charme en karakter, perfect voor verzamelaars of liefhebbers van antiek gezelschapsspel.

Staat:
Schaakstukken en damstenen in goede staat. Allen vernist en compleet. De kist oogt zeer imposant. Wat gebruikerssporen rondom maar algemeen beeld goed. Binnenzijde van stof en wat verouderd maar volledig functioneel. Damzijde wel iets krom getrokken aan de zijkant. 

Herkomst:
Waarschijnlijk vervaardigd rond 1950 — klassieke Staunton‑stijl schaakstukken uit die periode.

Herkomst uit particuliere verzameling; mogelijk Nederlands maar exacte oorsprong is niet bekend.
