Didagur mask, collected in 1995 in the village of Govermas at the mouth of the Sepik River in the Black Water region of Papua New Guinea. This type of reed mask is used during initiation rites. The large mouth opening allows the wearer to see. The mask shows signs of wear. It consists of a frame with a complex weave of reed, clay, and natural pigments.
