Antique Arts & Crafts / Jugendstil Bronze Lantern Table Lamp with Green Glass – c. 1900–1920 – In excellent condition – No reserve.
An exceptional antique Arts & Crafts / Jugendstil bronze lantern table lamp, dating to the early 20th century (circa 1900–1920). Richly decorated with embossed floral garlands, stylized lion motifs, riveted architectural details and an ornate pierced domed top, this rare decorative lantern beautifully reflects the craftsmanship of the Arts & Crafts and Jugendstil movements.
The lantern features its original green-tinted glass panels, creating a warm atmospheric glow when illuminated. The hinged front door opens smoothly, providing access to the original Bakelite bulb holder, while the lamp retains its original Bakelite two-pin plug and is supplied with the decorative filament light bulb shown in the photographs.
Standing on elegant cast bronze feet, this impressive piece is equally suitable as a table / hanging lamp, hallway lantern or statement decorative object.
The Arts & Crafts and Jugendstil movements celebrated handcrafted quality, natural ornamentation and honest materials as a reaction against industrial mass production.
