Description from the seller

Rare!! A rare and magnificent rosary chain made by Adolphe Penin of Lyon around 1910. This antique rosary from the 19th century and 53 nacre beads; The medal and the cross are in vermeil (silver), crab hallmark.
Signature AP= Adolphe PENIN, French medallist in Lyon.
The linkage medallion bears the AP insignia for Adolphe Penin, member of the famous Penin family of Lyon, which has been producing medals of exceptional quality in France since 1807, the year his grandfather Marius began. Many medals from this family adorn the world’s finest museums.
This rosary is an authentic and precious devotional piece, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. It was made in silver with gold-plated elements (Vermeil) with its original box (see photos).
Guarantee mark: The piece is stamped with the crab hallmark, guaranteeing the use of at least 800/1000 silver, typical of older French works.
Composition: The entire chain and beads are in vermeil and nacre. The crucifix and the central medallion are in Vermeil (solid silver plated with gold). The item is entirely non-magnetic.
This rosary shows natural wear and patina that add to its character.
The beauty of this rosary and its beads make it a rosary of great beauty that could be given for a special occasion, such as a First Communion, a Confirmation, or even for a wedding.
Vermeil: The gold plating on the crucifix and the medallion depicting the Virgin is well preserved, but shows micro-scratches and slight wear at the edges, which is normal for an antique piece.
