Indo-Indian devotional painting titled Krishna con le Gopi (Rasa Lila), dating to 1940–1950, executed in tempera on parchment, about 180 × 60 cm, framed, unsigned, original edition from India.
Description from the seller
Large Indian devotional painting depicting the 'Rasa Lila', the divine dance of Krishna with the Gopi, set in a lush natural landscape with rich vegetation and a refined floral border. The work is executed entirely by hand with polychrome pigments, probably tempera (gouache), on an organic support, presumably parchment.
attributable to a traditional school of northern India (probably Rajasthan) and datable to the 20th century. The monumental format, about 180 × 60 cm, makes it a work of great decorative impact and of particular interest to collectors of Oriental art.
Conditions: the work shows signs of time and use, with significant losses of the paint film and some lacunae in the upper part and along the edges, in addition to normal aging traces, as clearly visible in the photographs. Overall it preserves a remarkable decorative and historical charm.
Dimensions: 180 × 60 cm.
Sold in the conditions shown in the photographs, which are an integral part of the description.
