Description from the seller
Lot consisting of three bottles of Smith Haut Lafitte red from the 2010 vintage, a wine that embodies the excellence of a great terroir in Graves.
The owners of Château Smith Haut Laffite, Daniel and Florence Cathiard, bought the property in 1990 and focused from the start on the vineyard, reorganizing and replanting about 30% of the estate, adopting new viticulture techniques and institutionalizing organic and sustainable methods for cultivation.
The slow ripening of the grapes that vintage allowed exceptional concentration, while preserving notable freshness. Dense and deep, nearly black, the wine reveals an intense nose of black fruits, licorice and spices, followed by a broad, powerful, and perfectly balanced palate.
On the nose, the silky tannins contribute to a long and vibrant finish with notes of hot stone and noble soil. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels from the château’s own tonelerie, this 2010 vintage stands out as one of the best Smith Haut Lafitte, acclaimed with the highest international scores.
A great wine for keeping, deep, elegant and timeless. These three bottles have always been stored at a temperature of 16°C in an underground, humidity-controlled cellar. It is a wine to drink now or to keep for a few more years, as it has great aging potential.
