Exceptional and Majestic Alpaca Jewish Altar Cup (Shabbat)
This piece is a Jewish ceremonial work of art of great cultural and historical value, distinguished by its imposing size and opulent ornamentation. Originally used in Shabbat rituals and Jewish holidays, it represents the re-establishment of Jewish community life in the Iberian Peninsula at the beginning of the 20th century. A unique piece for Judaica collectors or as a highly distinguished decorative element.
-Origin: Spanish or Iberian Jewish community, reflecting the re-establishment of Jewish community life at the beginning of the 20th century.
-Style: Neo-Renaissance: A majestic style with influences of Central European Art Nouveau, reflected in the profuse ornamentation of vegetal motifs, scrolls, and oval cartouches.
-Estimated Period: First half of the 20th century (c. 1900-1930).
-Material: Made of alpaca, also known as German silver or Maillechort in France. The base bears the hallmark "ALPACA," guaranteeing the material's authenticity.
