Description from the seller

Peterson's Dublin Maigret, a long pipe inspired by the famous Commissioner Jules Maigret, one of the most iconic models of the Irish house. Peterson continues to use the traditional silver hallmarking system with Hibernia mark, 925 title, and year letter.

Features
Manufacturer: Peterson's Dublin
Model: Maigret
Material: Ballywood? No, radica is briar; black gloss finish (Ebony)
Ring: sterling silver 925
Length: about 155 mm
Weight: 58 g
Ring hallmarks
From the close-up photo, the following are clearly readable:
Hibernia (Dublin Assay Office mark)
925 (sterling silver)
G (year letter)

Assuming the G letter corresponds to the 2017 assay cycle, the ring has been tested and stamped in 2017. It should be noted that the hallmark indicates the year the silver band was marked, which normally coincides with production or slightly precedes it.

Condition
The pipe is in excellent condition:
- bowl rim clean with minimal signs of use;
- internal chamber in order and without evident cracks;
- mouthpiece in excellent condition, free of significant bite marks;
- black finish still bright;
- hallmarks well legible and not worn.

Overall the rating is 8.5–9/10, corresponding to a well-preserved collectible pipe.

Authenticity
All observable details are consistent with an original Peterson:
- correct "Peterson's Dublin" trademark;
- sterling silver ring hallmarked;
- factory marks and finish conform to Peterson production;
- proportions and shape characteristic of the Maigret model.

Collectible value
For a 2017 specimen in these conditions, the market value is approximately:
€220–€300 without box;
€300–€380 complete with box and original accessories;
up to €400 or more if rarely smoked and complete with original accessories.

This is a modern Peterson but already sought after by collectors, especially for the distinctive “Maigret” shape, produced in smaller quantities than the standard models.
