Set of two hand-blown art glass decorative bowls in Sommerso technique, ca. 1960–1970, made of high-quality glass with flowing forms and rich color accents in pink, amber, green and purple; in good vintage condition with minor signs of aging on the base ring.
Description from the seller
Bring the colorful elegance of the 1960s and 1970s into your interior with this stunning set of two hand-blown art glass decorative bowls. These objects are crafted according to the iconic Sommerso technique, where different layers of colored glass gracefully flow into one another without mingling.
The flowing, organic forms are representative of the best glass design from the Mid-Century Modern era (think of designs by Josef Hospodka for Chřibská Sklárna or the masters of Murano).
Features of the set:
The Long Oval Bowl: A dynamic, wavy design. The core glows in a deep fuchsia pink, surrounded by a warm amber glow and captured in clear, thick-walled crystal glass.
The Star-shaped Bowl: A more compact, flower- or star-shaped vide-poche with gracefully raised points. Executed in a mysterious and chic color combination of bottle green and amethyst purple.
Thanks to its substantial weight and flowing lines, these bowls catch and refract incoming light in a fabulous way. They are perfect to use as a sculptural centerpiece on a sideboard, as a luxury bonbon bowl, or as a stylish 'catch-all' for your finest accessories.
