Pericle Fazzini (1913-1987) - Senza titolo

An exquisite lot proposed at auction comprising three original etchings by Pericle Fazzini (Grottammare, 1913 – Rome, 1987), one of the most important Italian sculptors of the 20th century. Alongside his celebrated sculptural production, Fazzini also devoted great attention to graphic art, creating engravings in which we find the same energy of the line, the dynamism of the forms, and the deep plastic sensibility that characterize his entire oeuvre.

The three etchings, all untitled, represent an interesting testimony to the artist's graphic research. Through the engraving language, Fazzini manages to transfer onto the plate that expressive tension and that strength of the stroke that made him one of the most authoritative figures of contemporary Italian art.

The works are printed on fine Rosaspina Fabriano art paper, traditionally used for intaglio printing due to its excellent preservation qualities and the refined rendering of the incised line.

Certificates of authenticity, invoices, or references to catalog raisonnés are not available.

The etchings appear in good overall condition, with the physiological and slight yellowing of the paper compatible with the works’ age. There are modest signs of time and light marginal imperfections, without affecting the aesthetic quality and full legibility of the engravings. The overall conservation status can be considered good, with limited defects consistent with the normal preservation of contemporary graphic works.
