Bracelet - Silver - Yemen - Early 20th century

A Yemenite tribal silver bangle bracelet, made by an unidentified Yemeni artisan, most likely during the late nineteenth or early twentieth century when Yemeni tribal silversmiths produced decorative silverwork for personal adornment outside formal assay systems. The bangle is worked in the round with repeating decorative patterns covering the full 5 cm width of the piece, reflecting the characteristic dense surface ornamentation associated with Yemenite tribal silversmithing. Weight is 129 g and internal diameter is 5 cm, giving a wide, substantial cuff form. The silver content has been confirmed by acid test at a minimum of 70%; no hallmarks, purity stamps, or maker's marks are present, which is typical of Yemenite tribal pieces produced outside regulated assay systems. Condition is Good: the bracelet shows natural wear and age patina consistent with an antique piece; the closing hinge that connects the two halves at the clasp is missing; and a few small holes are present along the length of the bangle, which are nearly invisible from the outer face but visible from the inner side. Photographs form part of the lot description.
