The Zuni (also spelled Zuñi) are federally recognized Indigenous American Pueblo peoples.
Most live in Zuni Pueblo on the Zuni River, a tributary of the Little Colorado, in western New Mexico, United States. Zuni lies 55 km south of Gallup in New Mexico. Besides the reservation, the tribe owns land in Catron County in New Mexico and Apache County in Arizona. They called their homeland Shiwinnaqin.
