Description from the seller
Unique sculpture in solid crystal entitled "Hellade", dated 1971 and bearing an unidentified artist monogram.
This modernist work features a vertically elegant architectural composition. An elongated polygonal column rests on a substantial geometric base entirely faceted.
The title "Hellade", an ancient name for Greece, directly references the Greek inspiration of the work. Its silhouette indeed evokes an antique column reinterpreted in a modernist, abstract, and minimalist style.
The various facets cut into the crystal catch the light from many angles, creating remarkable plays of transparency and reflections.
Under the base are incised at the tip the notes:
→ "CRYSTAL 71"
→ "HELLADE"
→ an unidentified artist monogram
The inscription "71" corresponds to the year of creation, namely 1971.
The identity of the artist has not yet been determined despite the presence of the monogram.
→ Characteristics :
• Material: solid crystal
• Title: "Hellade"
• Year: 1971
• Unique piece
• Signature: unidentified artist monogram
• Height: 16.5 cm
• Base dimensions: about 6 x 6 cm
• Width of the upper part: about 5.5 cm
• Weight: 1162 g
→ Condition: Very good overall.
The sculpture retains a very beautiful transparency. Some fine superficial signs of use are visible underneath the base, consistent with its age.
No significant shine, damage, or restoration observed.
The artwork will be packed with the utmost care and shipped in reinforced protection suitable for crystal.
