LE TIGRE No. 52BM – Rare vintage fountain pen in marbled brown-red and black ebonite – 14 ct gold nib – Made in England

Rare and authentic Le Tigre No. 52BM fountain pen, manufactured in England during the first half of the 20th century.

The Le Tigre brand was primarily aimed at the Benelux market and is generally attributed by collectors to a Conway Stewart production, under a commercial brand.

Characteristics

* Period: around the 1920s-1930s
* Barrel: marbled brown-red and black ebonite (hard rubber)
* Filling system: lever filler
* Nib: solid 14-carat gold nib, engraved “Le Tigre 14 Ct”
* Nib vent: heart-shaped
* Visible markings: LE TIGRE – No. 52BM – MADE IN ENGLAND – tiger cartouche with “1918”

Condition

Very good condition for a pen about a century old.

* Markings clearly legible.
* Ebonite shows a superb marbling with original strong shine.
* Original clip present.
* Original nib visually in good condition.
* No cracks observed on the body or cap.

The lever mechanism is present, but the pen has not been restored.
