Splendid and elegant figurative sculpture in dark patinated bronze, rich in strong Dionysian symbolism and depicting Bacchus in his mature iconography (or Silenus, his wise tutor and companion of the procession).
Simbologia Bacchanale: The expressive face framed by a thick beard is topped by a leafy vegetal crown of ivy or grape leaves. With the left arm wrapped by a serpent — a classic symbol tied to Dionysian cults and rites — the figure supports a circular plate finely decorated with palmette motifs, originally conceived as a lamp, lamp-holder or censer.

It rests on a solid circular base worked in relief with tendril and botanical motifs. The sculpture features a beautiful dark patina and a remarkable anatomical rendering of the muscles and the drapery.
