Description from the seller
Collector's item: beautiful, very special edition: E/A (edition: 5), of the silkscreen 'Coco' - Testimony in Black & White'. In a very limited run, besides these 5 exclusive E/A copies there are only 25 numbered copies of this silkscreen made by Lita Cabellut.
Lita Cabellut painted this highly successful series ‘Coco-Testimony in Black & White’, in 2010/2011, consisting of 35 paintings. The series sold out in two hours in Paris (Opera gallery). This success was highlighted by a major article in Algemeen Dagblad. Through this article Lita was invited to the then-popular talk show Pauw & Witteman. In this broadcast they discuss the successes of the Coco paintings.
In 2012 Lita produced the ‘Coco-1’ and in 2013 the ‘Coco-2’, both special silkscreens, not only in size but also due to the particularly low edition size: Coco-1: 25 copies plus 5 E/A’s that Lita has hand-painted with oil paint, effectively making these E/A’s unique as each of the 5 is different.
Lita Cabellut (1961) has long been among the international top! Born in Spain and at 19 left Spain to develop further as an artist in the Netherlands. After completing the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Lita Cabellut settled permanently in the Netherlands.
In 2011 Cabellut painted the series 'Coco, Testimonia in Black & White', a series of 50 oil paintings that sold quickly in Paris. That was reason for Algemeen Dagblad to publish an article about her, which was picked up by the Pauw & Witteman talk show team; in the broadcast of 4 November 2011 Cabellut was their guest.
In 2020 she was chosen as 'Artist of the Year 2021'. Internationally, Cabellut is seen as one of the three most influential living Spanish-speaking artists. Cabellut has received several international prizes.
