Edmondo De Amicis, Constantinople, Milan, Fratelli Treves Editori, 1878. Fifth complete edition of the two editorial volumes, gathered in a single binding with continuous pagination. Famous travel account dedicated to the Ottoman capital, to the Bosphorus, to St. Sophia, to the Grand Bazaar, to the Seraglio, and to the life and customs of the city in the second half of the nineteenth century. Volume consists of 577 numbered pages and 5 unnumbered pages, for a total of 582 pages. Era binding in half-leather with boards covered in marbled paper, in very used condition: widespread abrasions and losses to the cover, worn corners, worn spine with tears at the head and tail, weakened binding, stains, browning and widespread foxing, traces of humidity, annotations to the index, and normal signs of use. Copy complete according to the indicated count, sold in the conditions documented in the photographs.
