Makara, mythical guardian monster with the appearance of several animals, with claws, a trunk, or features of a tiger, an elephant, or a serpent. It is a protector of sacred places.
It preserves the last layer of paint, whitish in color, and beneath it peeks the cinnabar red of the first layer (supposedly).
