The lid features an elaborate design of scrolling foliage, decorative columns and classical figures, including a central pair surrounded by smaller figures. The darker recessed areas create an attractive contrast with the polished gold-coloured relief. The box stands on small feet and opens to reveal a clean, light wooden interior. A small unidentified maker’s mark is visible on the underside. A striking decorative piece, suitable for storing jewellery, keepsakes or other small treasures.
