AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Discover an iconic piece of Japanese technical watchmaking: the Seiko Astron GPS Solar reference 7X52-0AA0. Launched in the early 2010s, this first generation Astron revolutionized the GPS-connected watch world by combining an ultra-precise solar movement with satellite reception that automatically adjusts the time and time zone anywhere on the planet. A true traveler's watch and a tech enthusiast’s dream, it embodies Seiko’s know-how in all its modernity and robustness. This example, in high-intensity titanium with a ceramic bezel, is offered in used condition with the normal signs of wear from a worn watch, and will be sold in an aftermarket box.

Detailed description

This is a Seiko Astron GPS Solar caliber 7X52 (first-generation GPS solar quartz movement). The case back clearly bears the inscriptions “7X52-0AA0”, serial number 351528, “MADE IN JAPAN”, “WATER RESISTANT 10BAR” and “CERAMICS + TITANIUM”. The case is made of high-intensity titanium (lightweight and hypoallergenic), paired with a black ceramic bezel. The case diameter is about 47 mm, with a thickness of about 16.5 to 17 mm and a lug-to-lug of about 55 mm. Despite its generous dimensions, the watch remains relatively light (about 135 g) thanks to extensive use of titanium.

The dark dial (black/anthracite with brownish reflections depending on light) features a radiant finish. The applied silvered metal indices, the large, contrasting hands, and the 6 o’clock sub-dial (24-hour display) offer excellent legibility. The DST (daylight saving time) indicator, ON/OFF indications, and the small function sub-dial are also present. The date is displayed at 3 o’clock in a window with a white disk. The bezel displays the codes of major world cities and time zones (LON, PAR, CAI, JED, DXB, KHI, DEL, DAC, BKK, BJS, TYO, SYD, NOU, WLG, TBU, MDY, HNL, ANC, LAX, DEN, CHI, NYC, SCL, RIO, FEN, PDL, etc.), enabling quick reading of world time across 39 zones.

Main functions of caliber 7X52:
- GPS reception for automatic adjustment of time and time zone
- Solar power (no battery change)
- Perpetual calendar up to February 2100
- DST function
- Power-saving mode
- Accuracy of ±15 seconds per month (excluding GPS reception)
- 10 bar / 100 meters water resistance

The bracelet is made of titanium alloy (markings “TITANIUM ALLOY” visible on the clasp), with solid links and a double-push-button deployant clasp signed SEIKO. It is adjustable and, according to measurement photos, currently sized for a wrist circumference of about 19.5 cm, with the possibility to add or remove links. The photos clearly show the normal signs of wear: micro-scratches and wear marks on the case flanks, on the bracelet, on the case back (quite marked) and on the pushers. The sapphire crystal and the dial are in good condition, with no obvious deep scratches. The watch is running (hands in motion in the photos).

Condition and delivery

Used watch in good working condition, with wear consistent with age and use. No original papers or original box. It will be delivered in an aftermarket box (black box style case, visible in the photos).

This first-generation Astron GPS Solar remains a cult reference for Seiko technical collectors and demanding travelers. It combines innovation, the lightness of titanium, and robustness, all in a bold and functional design.

The watch will be carefully padded and shipped by registered mail with tracking and insurance.
