Description from the seller

Imposing and sumptuous rounded, stocky vase in solid two-tone crystal, an iconic masterpiece from the renowned Belgian crystal works Val Saint Lambert. Dating from the mid-20th century, this model beautifully showcases the absolute mastery of the cased glass technique, where a rich layer of intense cobalt blue is fused over a clear crystal core before being intricately cut away. The body features an exceptional style of rich cutting: the lower section is girdled with wide, sharp vertical bevels, topped by a dramatic central frieze of round relief-cut cabochons, while the shoulder and short neck receive fine geometric facets and chevron patterns that multiply light refractions throughout the room (an object so hefty and bright it will easily anchor any bouquet, even if a stunt-loving cat decides to test its balance). Unsigned, as was standard practice for many free-blown studio productions of this era, the incomparable purity of the crystal and the signature complexity of the cut patterns undisputedly guarantee its fine Liège heritage. The vase remains in magnificent overall aesthetic condition, fully retaining its superb original luster and pristine clarity. For full disclosure, note the honest signs of its past life, specifically a clear chip located directly on the rim of the neck, which is highlighted in the close-up shots—a minor battle scar that does not take away from its structural elegance when displayed. Regarding technical specifications, the piece stands 14 cm tall with a maximum diameter of 17 cm, a neck opening measuring 12.5 cm, and a massive weight of 2000 g that truly speaks to the high lead content of period crystal. A highly decorative and sophisticated collector's item, perfect for styling a classic or modernist interior. Please study the detailed photographs carefully as they form an essential part of the description. The lot will be packed with professional-grade, heavy-duty protective materials and shipped with full track and trace tracking.
