Pine (Pinus pinea) Mediterranean Bonsai (winter protection required)

- Characteristic tree of the Mediterranean with an umbrella-shaped crown
- Dark green needles with a distinctive scent
- Pine cones with edible seeds
- Bark initially smooth and gray; with age the bark becomes reddish-brown and cracked, the inner bark appears cinnamon-brown
- Cold-house bonsai; from May to November outdoor placement is also possible
- Drought-tolerant and suitable for beginners; avoid waterlogging
- Do not fertilize in winter and water sparingly

Our Standards:
- Every bonsai is delivered with a sample of our preferred organic bonsai long-term fertilizer.
- To determine trunk width we place the measuring instrument at half height between the root collar and the first branch (see example photo). In case of several trunks, the widest one is chosen.
- All our trees are planted in a substrate mix developed specially by us.
- Where possible we reuse old packaging for shipping, for the sake of the environment.
- The trees are irrigated before shipping, protected from drying out, and securely fixed in the outer carton.
- Shipping is insured.
- Service providers are commissioned who state that they normally deliver within max. 4 working days.
- We ship on the following Monday after payment is received on Catawiki to avoid delivery delays caused by weekends.
